Long Live the Social Promotion
For the last few weeks, I have been talking and writing about what I have referred to as MERA’s “Back to Basics” (B2B) initiative. B2B is all about revitalizing and freshening up a concept as old as the car audio industry itself. Specifically, I am referring to parking lot promotions.
One Saturday in late April, The Ultimate Edge in Oswego, N.Y. held our first (un)event. I call it an (un)event because we kept it so informal we didn’t even want to put a name to it. Here is what we did:
We started getting the word out that on Saturday’s there would be a place for car enthusiasts to hang out, socialize and have their cars washed. That’s it.
