For TCL, TVs Become a Work of Art with Living Window Series
Forget your old and tired black box TV design. TCL has a new series of displays, announced at IFA 2018, that pay a great deal of attention to design and elegance, as well as sound. The Living Window Series features four different models that all take the traditional display and reshape it in ways that turn the TV into a literal work of art.
Though not known for their high-end TVs in the U.S., TCL has a way of stepping up their game on the global stage, an in Europe in particular where they’re one of the fastest growing brands, and a top-three brand in terms of volume. The Living Window Series is just the latest testament to the company’s growing global footprint in the TV market, and the level of attention the brand has when it comes to making gorgeous TVs. The line features four different models—Art Deco, Abstract Beauty, Modern, Simplicity, and Oriental Elegance—that all look completely different from one another.
As for what they have in common, each Living Window TV will ship with a 4K QLED TV display and audio hardware created in collaboration with Onkyo, an element that stays true to TCL’s commitment to provide exceptional sound alongside its TVs. These are also all smart TVs, so users will have access to TCL’s AI platform that can provide everything from weather reports, to traffic alerts, schedule updates, and more. You can also use your voice to control all of the basic functions of your TV and access a wide range of content. Additionally, each model will have TCL’s Home Gallery, which is a platform that offers up a library of paintings and similar content like famous ancient and modern Chinese and other foreign paintings.
The TVs will be set in size, but they will come in two different sizes: the Art Deco, Modern Simplicity, and Abstract Beauty will be 65-inch displays, while the Oriental Elegance will be 55-inch models.
No details were available on when the Living Window Series or how much each model would cost, but they certainly made an exceptional first impression in their debut here at IFA 2018.
More New Models
TCL had more than just the Living Window Series to talk about here at IFA.
The brand introduced their first 8K QLED TV, which is launching in partnership with FIBA (international basketball) and will be branded for the FIBA 2019 World Cup. The 75-inch display packs in more than 33 million pixels and features TCL's local dimming technology across 823 different zones on the display for even more pronounced color definition. The company paired up with Onkyo here as well for the audio technology integrated into the TV. The soundbar has Dolby Atmos included for an even more immersive listening experience.
Additionally, the company showed off the recently launch TV Cityline Series C76 (pictured above), which is the European version of their C6 model. Recently awarded with an EISA 2018-2019 "Best Buy LCD TV" distinction, the display features an exquisite zero-edge display and a JBL integrated soundbar. The TV is 7.9mm thin at its thinnest point, making it slimmer than most smartphones on the market today.
