In a statement last week, Fry’s Electronics, one of the larger regional consumer electronics retail chains, announced that it had selected same-day delivery company Deliv to help power the retailer’s same-day and scheduled delivery service. Fry’s also announced, in conjunction with the new partnership, that it would roll out same-day delivery in half of their markets across the country. The initial rollout will include San Jose, Orange County, LA, Oakbrook; Las Vergas, Dallas, Houston, and Seattle.
A clear move to better position itself in a world “owned and operated” by Amazon, Fry’s will make roughly 90 percent of the items it carries eligible for same-day delivery, and 500 items that will be eligible for free same-day delivery. Fry’s explained that everything from routers and switches, to laptops, gaming systems, TVs, major appliances, and more can arrive at a customer-specified location—their work or home, for example—within a few hours of purchase. The customer can schedule a time and place that is convenient for them.
“Our customers are passionate about technology, which means in today's world they want to get their hands on our products as quickly as possible,” Randy Fry, president of Fry’s, said in a statement. “Deliv helps us deliver an exceptional fast and friendly experience that rewards that excitement and that’s consistent with our brand.”
