Gaming With the Kids? Many Parents Say No
Despite the widespread popularity of gaming among children that is beginning to spread to non-traditional gamers, a large percentage of parents asked say that they do not play video games with their kids. According to an Associated Press/AOL Games poll released this week, 43 percent of parents of young children who play video games never join in the fun.
Meanwhile, of those said they do play games with their kids, 30 percent say they do so for less than hour per week.
The poll also found that those who do engage in gaming with their children tend to be younger, single, and/or part-time or stay-at-home parents. In addition, those questions were divided on the question of whether or not video games are good for kids.
