GE Delays HDTV Line
GE's planned launch of an HDTV line has been delayed by at least three months, the New York Times reported Wednesday on its Gadgetwise blog.
The company last September announced that it would reenter the television business, after a long absence, as part of a joint venture with Tatung, a Taiwan-based manufacturer. The venture, General Displays and Technologies, was meant to produce higher-end TVs with Internet capability.
Officials told the Times that the delays are due to marketing difficulties, and not any type of manufacturing problems.
