Get Your Tickets: What You Need to Know Before You Go to IFA 2018
IFA is one of the world’s largest annual gatherings of the consumer electronics and home appliance industries. Each year in Berlin, the biggest names in technology come together to show off their latest gadgets, to meet potential business partners, and to brainstorm ideas about future innovations, where technology is heading, and how it will impact consumers’ lives.
The latest iteration of this annual event—IFA 2018—is fast approaching. The show kicks off (for the press) on August 29, opens to the public on August 31, and runs through September 5.
Throughout the week, the halls of the Messe Berlin campus host thousands of exhibitors as well as a number of different events and specialty tracks that visitors can take advantage of. Some of those programs and events require special ticket purchases, and that’s what we’re here to help with.
Here are some of the key events that will occur during IFA 2018, along with some additional info, and links to the appropriate ticket information pages.

The IFA+ Summit is a two-day show within the larger IFA 2018 show that brings together some of the brightest minds in the tech industry. Discussions will focus on disruptive ideas, futuristic trends, and innovative business models.
This year, IFA announced four different content clusters that the IFA+ Summit will specifically dive into, including Intelligence (AI), Interaction (robots, IoT), Society (smart government and data security), and Experience (VR/AR, voice recognition, etc.).
Purchasing a ticket for the IFA+ Summit will give visitors access to all of the IFA Trade Visitor benefits as well as access to the IFA+ Summit, a 6-day IFA pass, a special networking lunch, a networking reception, and access to exclusive video content.
IFA Global Markets
The IFA Global Markets serves as Europe’s largest B2B sourcing platform, according to IFA. This year’s Global Markets show will once again be hosted at the STATION Berlin venue and will include a range of products, networking opportunities, and education. Highlights this year include a Keynote address, a special Keynote panel and an experts’ reception on Tuesday, September 4th.
The EXPERT TALKS portion of the IFA Global Markets will feature different panels that reflect numerous channel segments like European geography, product categories and more. Additionally, the EXPERT TALKS offer a forum for buyer to “understand common problems, share experiences, and learn about the business from different angles.”
Passes specifically to the Global Markets portion of IFA 2018 are free, but only get you access to the STATION Berlin venue.
The newest addition to the IFA roster of events, Shift Automotive is a program developed and backed by IFA, Messe Berlin, the Geneva International Motor Show, and Palexpo.
The event will look beyond technological breakthroughs and investigate whether consumers are ready for the change ahead. Will drivers and passengers see transport disruption as a threat or an opportunity? Will new technologies make driving more complex, or less? What happens when drivers become passengers? And are people ready to switch from owning a car to subscribing to mobility experiences?
Shift Automotive runs from September 4-5. Tickets to both days of the show are available for €729. One-day passes are available for September 4 or September 5 and are €399.

Sometimes you just need a bit of a break from the networking and business relationship development—or you may want to go about developing those relationships outside of the tradeshow booth setting.
