Fiorentino to Answer Allegations
Gilbert Fiorentino, the CEO of Systemax's technology group who the company announced earlier this week that it plans to fire, will have a chance to plead his case before Systemax's executive commitee early next month, the Miami Herald reported.
Systemax announced Monday that it has placed Fiorentino on administrative leave and that it plans to fire him due to alleged improprieties. The nature of the accusations, brought by a whistleblower, have not been made public.
Fiorentino, the founder of Tiger Direct, will answer the allegations along with his legal counsel at a Systemax executive committee meeting May 3. A final decision on Fiorentino's future is expected at that meeting as well.
