Global Small-, Medium-Sized Business Sales Eclipse $1 Billion on Prime Day
Despite some early technical difficulties with its website and mobile app, Amazon appeared to remain on target to shatter last year’s record sales on Prime Day. And, as it was in the middle of raking in consumers’ dollars on Tuesday, the company shared a pretty incredible announcement as to how small- and medium-sized businesses were performing.
By 5 p.m. on Tuesday—the time the press release hit our inbox—Prime members around the world had spent more than $1 billion on Amazon, specifically with the company’s small- and medium-sized shops that utilize the platform.
"Prime Day is just getting started for us, but we're already seeing 10 times our average day sales," Kelly Fedio of One Savvy Life, a small business that sells on Amazon, said in a statement.
