Google Tops Mobile Search Ratings
Google and Yahoo! rank highest in market share in the category of mobile searches, according to Nielsen Mobile data released this week. Google accounts for 61 percent of searches, while Yahoo! trails in second with 18 percent.
In addition, Google users average more searches per month with nine, while Yahoo! users search approximately 6.7 times per month. These mobile users of Google and Yahoo! are predominantly male (65 percent and 63 percent, respectively).
Although both Google and Yahoo! users search for the same items in similar proportions, 44 percent of Google searchers rate their contentment with mobile internet search between eight to ten (on a ten point scale), as compared to 40 percent of Yahoo searchers rate it between eight and ten.
