Google May Buy Softcard
Google is reportedly looking to buy a competitor to Apple Pay- the one that until recently was known as "Isis."
According to a Techcrunch report, Google is in talks to acquire the mobile payments startup known as Softcard. Softcard, founded in 2010 by a consortium that included wireless carriers AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, announced last year that due to events in the Middle East, it was dropping its original brand name, "Isis."
The price of the purchase "may be under $100 million," the report said.
