Google Mobile Platform Gets Good Early Reviews
Android, the open-source operating system that Google introduced to developers last fall, has gained a “strong following” among developers, BusinessWeek reported Monday. Developers have praised the system’s ease of use, as well as its flexibility in creating untraditional applications.
According to the story, “thousands” of Android-based projects are presently in the works, after more than 250,000 copies of the Android software development kit were downloaded from Google. However, Android is not expected to make much of an impact in the smartphone market this year.
