Google, Panasonic Collaborating on Internet TVs
In what may turn out as a crucial industry alliance, search giant Google has teamed up with Matsushita, the parent company of Panasonic, to develop televisions that can display Internet content. According to Reuters, the first of the TVs will become available this spring.
The TVs will allow users access to Picasa, YouTube, and other Google-owned applications. The deal is the first Google has reached with a major maker of televisions.
