Government Drops XM Probe
XM Satellite Radio now has one less government decision to worry about. That’s because the Securities and Exchange Commission announced Monday that it has stopped its investigation of the company without recommending any sort of prosecution or enforcement action, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The investigation, which involved XM’s practices related to subscriber data and stock options, was unrelated to the still-pending merger between XM and rival Sirius Satellite Radio. That matter remains before both the Department of Justice and Federal Communications Commission.
