Garmin Introduces GPS Smart Phone
Borrowing a page from Apple, Garmin has taken a step away from its core product, to put out a mobile phone. But also like the iPhone, the Nuvifone will feature all the Garmin features that users know.
According to the Kansas City Star, Garmin introduced the product at an invitation-only event in New York this week. Featuring such typical smart phone features as a 3.5-inch screen, a Web browser, e-mail, and a camera, in addition to Garmin’s standard GPS features. The phone is scheduled to arrive this fall; no pricing information has yet been released.
“This is the breakthrough product that cell phone and GPS users around the world have been longing for — a single device that does it all,” the company’s president and COO, Cliff Pemble, told the Star.
