GPX Changes Name, Expands Line
If CES attendees have trouble finding the GPX booth this year, that’s because the company used the show as the launch pad for its new corporate identity as Digital Products International. DPI is now the name for the company with a portfolio that includes GPX, GoVideo, WeatherX, Crayola and the new iLive.
In the iLive Studio Series line, the company showed two new bar-style speakers made to mount under flat panel TVs. The iHT387DT ($299) features two speakers in a single cabinet with a built-in subwoofer. It includes a motorized iPod dock and AM/FM radio. The iHT8817DT is a virtual 5.1 system all-in-one bar-style unit that includes the radio and iPod dock of the iHT387DT ($399) but adds a slot-loading DVD player. It decodes Dolby Digital and Dolby ProLogic II and uses SRS TrueSurround 3D with TruBass.
