Proactive Mobile Electronics Dealers Boost Sales
Mobile electronics dealers who have changed with the times, adapting their business models to serve new customer demands, said they are well positioned to survive the economic downturn.
Matthew Feroli, owner of Boomer Car Stereo in Dorchester, Mass., is a good example. Overall sales at his shop were down about 10 percent last year, but profits were up. Heavy snowfall toward the end of the fourth quarter helped drive product and installation sales around remote start solutions.
But it wasn't just the bad weather that generated good business. He and other dealers attributed a sharper focus on installation services, marketing, promotions and vendor partnerships as helping to drive overall business.
