GSMA, the organization behind the annual Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, said it hosted a successful and engaging inaugural MWC Americas event in San Francisco this week.
In all, GSMA said 21,000 visitors from 110 countries descended upon San Francisco for the three-day event focused on the mobile industry. Further, 55 percent of those in attendance held senior-level positions at some of the industry’s largest mobile operators, software companies, device makers, equipment providers, and Internet companies. Among them were more than 2.400 CEOs.
“We are very pleased with the success of our first Mobile World Congress Americas event,” John Hoffman, CEO, GSMA Ltd., said in a statement. “The strong level of engagement at the show, particularly among senior-level attendees, underscores the integral role that mobile plays across the entire Americas region. I would like to thank our partner CTIA and also extend our gratitude to all attendees, exhibitors, sponsors and partners who were a part of the 2017 Mobile World Congress Americas.”
