Hall of Fame - Sam Runco
Runco has few regrets. His biggest, perhaps, is "that I didn't control and protect my intellectual property over the years. I didn't have the means to be able to run a company and to live on with my wife and do all the work and afford to get my intellectual property protected and patented. I tell people, I made mistakes from $100 up into the hundred-thousands, and I can't wait to make my first million-dollar mistake. Because that means I can afford it, and I'll make sure that I don't make that one twice. I protect everything now."
"I pride myself on consciously trying not to get trapped in a box," he said. "I never want to grow old. I meet people that are 30 that are already 70. And I meet people that are 70 and 80 that are 30. And I want to be like the 80 year-old guy that thinks like they're 20 or 30."
While Runco calls his proudest achievement his family, as far as his business goes, "It's a tough one. I've got a couple of good [achievements] coming at CES, so I think they're going to be the best."
