Harman International Names Paliwal CEO
Harman International announced Thursday morning that it has named Dinesh Paliwal as its new CEO, president and vice chairman. Paliwal, who will leave his position as president of global markets and technology for the ABB Group, will join Harman on July 1.
Paliwal was selected as a result of a worldwide search, and will succeed the company’s founder, Dr. Sidney Harman, who had served as CEO on an interim basis since Jan. 1. Harman will retain his title as executive chairman of the A/V manufacturer.
The announcement comes just two weeks after Harman announced April 26 that it was being acquired for $8 billion by a consortium of private equity firms, including affiliates of Kolberg Kravis Roberts and Co. and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners. Harman’s brands include Harman Kardon, JBL, Audio Access and Crown Audio.
