Harman International this week announced a collaboration with Sony, in which Harman products will be sold in Sony Style stores, while Harman will develop products to work with Sony products.
The JBL Sony Walkman docking station, which was introduced in Japan last year, will appear in other markets later this year. In addition, Sony Style stores will begin carrying such Harman products as the JBL Balboa, CS and ES home sound system speakers and JBL Duet II and JBL Duet III portable speakers. They have already begun appearing in Canada, with more distribution to come.
“By collaborating on both technologies and retail distribution channels, Harman and Sony have upped the ante in bringing consumers the most advanced sound systems available for home and personal use,” Dinesh C. Paliwal, chairman, president and CEO of Harman International, said as part of the announcement.
