Harman Pledges To Support Dealers At Flagship Store
Besides inviting consumers to view the latest products at its new flagship retail store in New York City, Harman will welcome its dealer and distribution partners through the doors to learn about cutting-edge interactive displays and innovative merchandising strategies, introduce their customers to fresh gear, and meet with company executives in an optimized setting.
"We want to bring our dealer and distribution partners into this," said Michael Mauser, president of Harman International's lifestyle division, as he supervised finishing touches inside the store, which is located on the corner of Madison Avenue and 54th Street and scheduled to open to the public November 22. "There's no conflict, this is about support. One thing is clear, we are not in competition with our partners."
While many of Harman's dealers do a good job demonstrating products, many others do not, especially those who still use passive displays, Mauser said. One of the most important things dealers can learn at the new store, he said, is the use of new interactive display technologies. "It sounds easy, but it's not," he said about implementing those types of displays. And there are a few prime examples customers will encounter when they enter the ground floor of the 8,500-square-foot store.
