Harman, Navteq Extend Contract
Harman International announced Tuesday that they have extended their relationship with the digital map provider Navteq, which will grant the company’s auto products division, Harmon Becker, access to Navteq maps through 2015.
The companies also said they will expand their areas of cooperation to include a broader global relationship, more marketing and distribution, a greater amount of technical cooperation and faster integration of content.
“Our automotive customers and their end users expect the highest quality experience from Harman infotainment systems,” Harman’s chief technology officer, Dr. Erich Geiger, said as part of the announcement. “Extending our relationship with NAVTEQ not only secures access to premium data, but it enables us to more rapidly develop new functional capabilities.”
