Harman’s Consumer and High Performance A/V brands were exhibited last week at rep company Audio Associates’ “Back to the Basics” Expo, a two-day show the company held for the firm’s New York Metro and Mid-Atlanta regions.
At the event, Harman spotlighted its new Harman/Kardon BDS all-in-one systems, its two-channel HK990 integrated amp and HD900 CD player, its K830BT and K840KL wireless headphones, and its new JBL On Air Wireless AirPlay speaker for more than 250 attendees.
Harman’s attendance was part of a strategy to participate in multiple events throughout the year so that the company can gain valuable face time with front-line retail floor sales personnel and installers, said Chris Dragon, Harman’s director of consumer and field marketing. “We get more of the floor and more installers – access to people we don’t normally have access to at places like CES, at these events,” he said. “There’s terrific value in such events when they are done well, and (Audio Associates CEO) Ron Meyerowitz runs a world-class rep firm and has the ears of key retailers. It gives us the opportunity as a vendor to really present our products and make sure they can be seen up close and personal.”
