Hasselblad is Acquired by Private Equity Firm
High-end camera maker Hasselblad has been purchased for an undisclosed sum by private equity firm Ventizz Capital Fund IV. The company was previously owned by the Hong Kong-based Shriro group.
The company said it plans ''no major structural or key management changes.'
"After eight years of ownership by the Hong Kong-based Shriro group, Hasselblad is now moving back to its European roots," Dr. Larry Hansen, Hasselblad's Chairman & CEO, said as part of the announcement. "History shows that for over half a century we have been the leading manufacturer and partner for photographers working in the medium format environment and seeking highest quality and ongoing innovation.
