Ford dumps all of this money into SYNC voice recognition, and then Siri comes along and steals all of its thunder. Heck, she even has a sense of humor, whereas the Ford likes to tell you: “To use the user device, you must first link up the Bluetooth audio in the user settings.” I’m sure you have heard an F-150 yell that at you before. Now, clearly Siri has not been designed to be safely used while driving, but it is only a matter of time.
This issue takes a look at products for those in love with their smartphones. There are heavy smartphone users out there who love the idea of one device that can control everything. You have seen these people…their screen glass looks like it got sent to a wood-whittling convention. They can ‘Slide to Open’ and manipulate text size as if an Ivy-league calculus professor was plowing through a fourth-grade McGraw-Hill math textbook. These guys would love the idea of having their iPhone be their radio, and they are willing to pay for the privilege! The aftermarket to the rescue, especially the new units from OCar and iRoc.
