HD DVD Players To Break $200 Barrier
Prior to this week, the only HD DVD player officially selling for below $200 was the little-known Venturer brand. But that changed this week, with Circuit City, Amazon.com and Wal*Mart all announcing that they will carry Toshiba’s HD-A2 model this holiday season for less than $200, according to HomeTheaterMag.com
The lowest-priced Blu-ray Disc player, Sony’s BDP-S300, is currently priced at $499.
Meanwhile, according to TVPredictions.com, Kmart has agreed to carry HD DVD exclusively in its stores.
