Not to be outdone, Sharp, one of the biggest proponents of LCD TV, made a big deal about the completion of its newest, 8th generation LCD plant in Kameyama, Japan. A few weeks ago the company already introduced new displays coming out of that plant, which, even to a novice eye, show improved contrast and color management. Now the company increases the line with larger wide screen models, including a 42-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch set. Perhaps most surprising, or not so surprising given price trends, are the SRPs, which are at $2,499, $3,499 and $4,799, respectively.
