HD Radio to Emphasize Consumers
The HD Radio Alliance announced a shift in strategy this week, meant to be the next stage in the promotion of its technology. The group now plans to emphasize consumer adoption, after previously concentrating on on consumer awareness.
“We closed 2007 with consumer awareness at unprecedented levels,” the group’s CEP, Peter Ferrara, said as part of the announcement, noting that the technology now boasts 77 percent awareness among those who listen to radio. “This year will see unparalleled numbers of receivers in cars and at retail.”
The 77 percent figure comes from a survey conducted recently by Critical Mass Media.
