Jury emphasized that, at present, the more relevant issues for retailers to promote are higher-quality audio, static loss, better overall reception and the information data-casting abilities now being developed. He also urges the retail community to maintain a close eye on its local broadcasters. "The most effective thing for dealers to do is to talk to radio stations they work with, and ask them when they are going digital," he said. This could open the door to possible cross-promotional opportunities, similar to partnerships that some retailers have developed to aid promotion in the HDTV market. Retail promotions, said Jury, are going to be an important component in getting the word out about HD Radio.
