Head of Terk Technologies dies at 56
5/5/03 — The chairman of Terk Technologies, Neil Terk, passed away last Saturday at the age of 56, after a long bout with Cancer. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Terk made a name for himself in 1985 when he founded the company, based in Commack, NY, as a manufacturer of television antennas. Over the years the company grew into a major vendor of audio video accessories, tapping into new technologies upon their outset in both research and manufacturing, such as car cellular, satellite television, satellite radio, wireless audio and HDTV.
Terk was on the executive board of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) as Chairman for the Accessories group and is a former chair of the Antenna Subcommittee.
