Roundtable: Life After Circuit City and Tweeter
Here’s the second installment of our annual mobile electronics dealer roundtable, which will appear in full in the May issue of Dealerscope. Stay tuned to Dealerscope.com this week for more outtakes.
In this portion, we ask dealers if they’ve seen a spike in 12-volt business since Tweeter and Circuit closed. Here’s what they said:
Jeffery Fay, Crutchfield: We saw an increase in business once the doors were closed at Circuit. It seems to be a lift, but I can't necessarily attribute it to that. We've seen head-unit sales increases. We believe that when Circuit exited that we picked up head-unit business. We've not seen that big a pickup in speakers, amps and subs.
