HES Announces Sony, LG Deals At Brandsource
Brand Source’s National Convention & Buying Fair opened last evening at Bally’s-Paris Las Vegas with its CEO, Bob Lawrence, boasting pluses in show floor acreage, members in attendance and show length – extended by two days to accommodate an expanded agenda.
But the most startling “plus” revealed by the group this first day was the addition of a significant vendor presence to its supplier portfolio -- with the surprise announcement by its Home Entertainment Source (HES) division that Sony and HES had entered into a contractual agreement that will allow high-end Sony-branded products to be fulfilled by HES’s high-end members through its Expert Warehouse.
HES General Manager Jim Ristow, whose 500-member division does just under $1.3 billion in annual sales, broke the news of the arrangement to whoops of approval from the Welcoming Session audience. He said the partnership would match “best-of-class dealers with best-of-class goods,” adding that particulars of the arrangement would be revealed at the group’s CEDIA Expo event next week in Denver.
