"When people buy a tablet, they also need case and memory, and we want to make sure they have those. For TVs, the need HDMI cables, stands and mounts. We have those adjacencies close to the product," Pearson said. "We're trying to make sure we have all those things in position so the consumer can have that true one-stop shopping experience."
With the use of mobile devices so prevalent, the retailer has accepted showrooming (which should be tied into a retailer's omni-channel strategy) as just another way of servicing the customer.
"It's something we embrace. We have a 30-day price match, so we're comfortable telling customers to check prices online. That's the way the world is operating," Pearson said. "We want to be right in the middle of it. Our CEO (Dennis May) has said we want to transact with customers any way they want and to make the experience as seamless as possible."
