hhgregg Cuts Ribbon in Pa.
hhgregg Thursday held a grand opening at its newest store, a 40,000-square foot location in a former Circuit City in Berwyn, Pa. CEO Dennis May and other company executives were on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, after which they and employees greeted the store's first customers with a standing ovation.
The Berwyn location was originally supposed to open with the first 12 Philadelphia stores in May, but was delayed due to construction issues, May said. The store, the largest in the area, will employ about 50 and also includes the region's training center. The entire store was made ready in just two weeks, a regional manager said.
The store is hhgregg's 158th overall, iits 27th in the mid-Atlantic region, its 13th in the Philadelphia area and one of between 40 and 45 opening nationwide this year.
