HHGregg Expands to Florida
Starting in the middle of 2008, electronics and appliance retailer HHGregg Inc. will open at least five locations in Central Florida. The first of the stores will open in the Jacksonville area and then continue to Orlando shortly after, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
The expansion to Florida is a result of the completion of a near $49 million initial public offering of shares last July, followed by earnings in the last fiscal year of $1.1 billion, the newspaper reported.
Competing against electronic retail leaders such as Best Buy and Circuit City, HHGregg offers same-day delivery on items that are in stock for a fee, and also offers a 110 percent price-matching guarantee. Under the guarantee, the store matches a lower price of the same product from another store, in addition to giving the customer 10 percent of the difference.
