HiberSense Announces Availability of Connected Climate Control Solution
HiberSense has officially announced the availability of their award-winning Connected Climate Control for Every Room solution. The Pittsburgh-based company said that the solution will, for now, only be made available through installing contractors and can be retrofit onto existing residential HVAC systems to provide an “affordable” room-by-room zoning solution for homeowners.
Unlike a traditional smart thermostat, HiberSense employs a system that integrates multiple HiberSensors throughout the home. Each sensor, they explain, gathers information such as occupancy, temperature, humidity, light, and optional indoor air quality. The system them analyzes that data and uses it to “leverage the thermal dynamics of the home” as well as the occupants’ habits and preferences.
Over time, the system will employ machine learning and predictive analytics to proactively heat and cool specific rooms before occupants arrive. And, if those predictive tendencies go off in err, the system will shut itself down in that particular room to prevent wasteful air conditioning and energy.
The HiberSense system also uses batter operated and wireless HiberVents to adjust the airflow in individual rooms to ensure “the perfect climate” in each space. The combined system can save consumers up to 40 percent on their heating and cooling costs, the company said.
Tech 50 Finalist
In addition to the new product availability news, HiberSense announced that it was named a Pittsburgh Tech 50 Awards finalist in the Start Category. The program, run by the Pittsburgh Technology Council, recognizes Southwestern PA’s “most successful, innovative, and thought-leading technology companies."
“The Pittsburgh Technology Council has been an important ally in the HiberSense startup journey,” Jacob Kring, HiberSense CEO, said in a statement. “To be included as among the best startups in the Pittsburgh area is humbling and motives the entire HiberSense team to do even more.”
Tech 50 winners will be announced during an event at the Wyndham Grand Hotel Pittsburgh on October 25.
