HIMEX Factory ramps up TV production after two major investments
The HIMEX Factory in Rosarito, Mexico, has started ramping up TV production thanks to two large investments: a 23.7 million dollar investment to acquire all equity in and assets of the facility, as well as a 30 million dollar investment to update and maximize utility of the facilities.
The Mexican factory, formerly owned by Sharp Electronics, is now owned and operated by Hisense North America and is Hisense’s largest TV production base outside of China.
According to Hisense, incorporating automation equipment and robotics doubled the capacity and efficiency of the factory, which is now capable of producing and assembling three million LCD televisions per year. The factory provides a supply chain platform that enables Hisense to deliver its models at affordable costs across the Americas.
