Hisense’s Gen-3 ULED TVs Bow at CES; New Sharp TV Line Debuts as ‘Competitive Brand’
Hisense is using the forum of CES 2016 to introduce its third generation of Ultra LED (ULED) TVs, while showcasing a completely new Sharp-branded TV lineup, designed since the company acquired Sharp’s Mexico TV factory and announced last year that it would license the Sharp brand name.
Mark Viken, Hisense USA vice president of marketing, said during a CES press conference that the company was planning on leveraging its 17 LED patents to the fullest in the new TV lineup. Gen-3 ULED products being unveiled boast 1,000 nits of brightness and screens with 300 zones of local dimming, he said.
Viken said the company is targeting “aggressive growth” for the Hisense brand, with its sights set on the #3 TV market position in units sold and dollar value.
