Hitachi Names Nakamura U.S. President
Hitachi Home Electronics of America (HHEA) announced late last week that it has named 27-year Hitachi veteran Kenji Nakamura to the position of president. Nakamura, who will assume his new duties April 1, succeeds Kazuhiro Kaizaki, who will return to Japan to help oversee product development for the company’s UltraThin line of flat-panel displays
Nakamura had earlier served as xecutive vice president and general manager of Hitachi’s Ubiquitous Platform Systems Division, which HHEA was known as until recently. HHEA is based in Chula Vista, Calif.
Earlier this month, Hitachi kicked off the “Thin is in Motion” mobile truck tour, which was meant to show off the company’s new Ultrathin line of LCD TVs. The line was introduced at International CES in January and is expected to reach the U.S. market later this year.
