Hitachi Pleads Guilty on Price-Fixing
Hitachi Tuesday agreed to enter a guilty plea for partaking in a price-fixing conspiracy related to LCD panels. According to the Associated Press, the Japanese manufacturer has agreed to pay a $31 million fine as part of a plea deal with the Department of Justice.
Hitachi becomes a fourth major manufacturer- joining LG, Sharp, and Chunghwa- who have entered guilty pleas in relation to the scheme, paying a total of more than $600 million in fines. Several individual executives have separately pled guilty as well.
