Hong Kong Electronics Fair & ICT Expo: Smart Tech, Smart City & Startups
The annual Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and co-located International ICT Expo, running from April 13 – 16, are international platforms for showcasing the latest electronics, cutting-edge technology and ICT solutions and they jointly will feature more than 3,500 combined exhibitors this year.
The Spring Electronics Fair offers a Tech Hall with five thematic zones: AR, VR & MR, Connected Home, e-Health & Wearables, Robotics & Unmanned Tech and the newly launched AI & Voice Recognition, and product entries will be diverse and cutting edge. Here’s a look at some of what’s in store at both exhibitions:
At the Electronics Fair, from Mainland China comes the OBSBOT Tail, an AI-powered autonomous director camera using AI technology and gimbal to follow a pre-determined subject. A set of advanced algorithms enables the camera to track, record and capture the active movements in 4K automatically even in a complicated environment. It also allows users to edit and share their video with a few taps.
At the International ICT Expo, SenseTime will showcase face recognition, video structuralization, and intelligent video analysis technologies. Their algorithms have been implemented in many of the Mainland Chinese Smart City and Safe City projects, helping municipal administrations be more efficient and effective. Featured solutions include SenseKeeper, a smart gatekeeper supporting a variety of authentication methods such as ID card, IC card and facial recognition, as well as SenseDrive DMS, which is a comprehensive solution supporting facial recognition and fatigue/attention detection, for a safer driving experience.
Other featured exhibitors at the ICT Expo include Microsoft and NEC, and group pavilions from Canada, India, as well as Guangdong, Hangzhou, Qingdao and Xiamen of Mainland China will also share their smart city solutions and applications. The “So French So Innovative” Pavilion at the ICT Expo will showcase smart city solutions designed by French corporations, SMEs and startups.
The Electronics Fair’s popular Startup Zone will also be making a return appearance, featuring innovations across different categories such as Apps, IoT, Consumer Tech, eHealth, Robotics and Digital Business. A series of startup-themed events including Smart Launch sessions, pitching sessions, media pitch day and investment matchmaking sessions will also be organized.
