Pipeline: Hong Kong Fair Runs the Gamut
The spring edition of the recent HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair drew 2,450 exhibitors. The fair, in keeping with international trends, set up new zones for smartphones and tablets, e-accessories and products for the elderly.
In its the eighth edition, the fair boasted record turnout, besting last year’s total of 2,305 exhibitors and 55,607 visitors, according to its organizer, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Presenters at the program included CEA’s chief economist and director of research, Shawn DuBravac, who spoke about the evolution of technology in the age of tablets. More than 100 tablets, DuBravac said, are competing in the five- to 15-inch space, with computers and TVs doing battle in the 15-inch and over category.
