Hot Products - In-Car Video
In-car video is bringing the not-so-typical mobile electronics customer back to the industry, while feeding the typical ME customer with all that is cool.
The customer base is an even split between the younger and the older consumers, with plenty of product options, ranging from the entry-level and affordable VHS to the more pricey, more convenient and the cooler DVD.
While the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began yelling "driver distraction" this past summer, the industry stands firm on its recommended practices for video in the vehicle. (An LCD panel or video monitor used for television reception or video or DVD play should be installed so that these features will only function when the parking brake is applied. A monitor for TV reception, video or DVD play that operates when the parking brake is not applied must be installed to the rear of the driver's seat where it will not be visible, directly or indirectly, to the driver.)
