HP Makes Breakup Plan Official
Following reports over the weekend, HP on Monday officially announced that it will split into two separate public companies.
The PC-and-printer division will be known as HP Inc., with the rest of the company becoming HP Enterprise. The split is a version of a plan considered but abandoned by the company four years ago.
Meg Whitman will remain president and CEO of the HP Enterprise side, with Dion Weisler, currently Executive Vice President of HP's Printing and Personal Systems business, taking over as president and CEO of HP, Inc.
