HP Reports Big Profit
HP, the world’s number-one PC supplier, reported a huge quarter Tuesday, posting revenue of $28.5 billion for a 13 percent jump from the same period last year, CNNMoney.com reported. The numbers were for the first fiscal quarter of the new year.
The number beat expectations, and caused HP’s stock to surge later in the day Tuesday.
The company reported that nearly 70 percent of its revenue came from outside the U.S. HP overtook Dell as the world’s top PC brand last year.
