HP Widens PC Market Lead
HP remained on top in PC market share for the third quarter of 2007, widening its lead over former number one Dell. That’s according to iSuppli Corp. figures, as reported by the IDG News Service.
HP’s market share came in at just 19.2 percent, up from 16.5 percent from a year ago, when HP overtook Dell. Lenovo placed third. In addition, HP has made huge gains outside the country. Also, in the notebook computers segment, Dell fell into third place, behind HP and Acer.
While Dell has begun to rebound thanks to the return of founder Michael Dell and the success of the Inspiron line, it wasn’t enough to take back the top spot.
