Hudson Group, Belkin Partner for LAX Airport Store
Airport retailer Hudson Group has partnered with consumer electronics accessories supplier Belkin to open a Belkin-branded storefront in Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Terminal 6 – the first brick-and-mortar store for Belkin in an international airport. The store has opened just at the onset of the busy summertime travel season, which LAX officials predict will see a record number of passengers making their way through the airport.
The walk-in store, around 200 square feet, features a charging station as well as Belkin’s lines of tablet and smartphone accessories, including chargers, cables and screen protectors. Beyond Belkin’s core products like chargers and cables, “we will feature their connected-home products like the Netcam Wi-Fi camera – which someone can use to look at their cat while they’re in China to see what’s the cat doing. That whole connected home strategy will be a nice section of the store,” said John Bradley, buyer for the Hudson Group.
The partnership with Belkin is a natural extension for his company, said Bradley. “Hudson Group has increased the amount of in-store space for electronics consistently each year for the past four years. Consumer electronics accessories are a big seller across the board – especially charging and device protection products… it’s the perfect time to collaborate with Belkin to open a stand-alone storefront in one of the busiest terminals at LAX.”
