The Human Touch Ascent Series Novo XT2 massage chair ($7,999) was run through its paces during the recent NATM vendor show. This flagship model provides what the company terms as “three-dimensional massage” along the entire length of the user’s spine, down to the thighs and calves.
According to spokesman Todd Bogart, the chair adds certain features not available on earlier models. These include a built-in premium sound system designed by audio company Altec Lansing, sound-soothing features such as ocean waves, light rain and crickets, and a new four-color screen controller that can be used in lieu of a smartphone app to control the pace and duration of the massage. As a sales aid on the retail floor the chair has a pushbutton demo mode with a recorded demo track that is choreographed to the initiation of the various massage functions.
A custom massage experience is possible after selecting from five intensity settings and three deep-tissue massage programs designed to soothe, stretch and rejuvenate the body’s muscles. There are also 35 auto wellness programs that can be selected by users.
