IBM Sees CE Rise in November
IBM Global technology Services, in its latest forecast of consumer electronics and appliances, predicted a strong November for U.S. CE retailers. IBM predicted sales of $10.164 billion in November, which would represent a 3 percent increase over the 2009 totals.
IBM also predicted that CE sales in December would total $13.8 billion for December, compared with 2009's actual total of $13.252 billion.
"The forecast indicates that retailers should be ready for a robust Black Friday and Cyber Monday," Global Business Services partner and IBM retail analytics leader Michael Haydock, said as part of the announcement. "Retailers that staff up and stock up for November and invest in advertising are likely to have a substantial advantage in the marketplace."
