IFA Announces 2017 UX Design Awards Nominees
Organized by the International Design Center Berlin, the UX Design Awards honor “outstanding products, services, and concepts” that place a special emphasis on the user. All nominated products in the 2017 UX Design Awards program will be on display at IFA 2017 September 1-6 in Berlin.
For this year’s program, an expert panel of judges whittled down several hundred entries to a final list of 48. The group contains a mixture of innovative products and services to future-oriented concept studies. Technology featured ranges from state-of-the-art hologram solutions and artificial intelligence, to speech recognition, 360-degree optics, and organic 3D printing. Industry sectors covered in the program include medicine, health, mobility, open data, media, connected living environments, and smart industries.
“At ever shorter intervals, new technologies are opening up previously undreamt-of application possibilities,” IFA said in a statement emailed to Dealerscope. “Virtual reality and 360-degree applications mean that we can experience concerts and sports events from just about anywhere in the world. On the basis of human cells, bioprinters enable researchers and pharmacists to print models for the skin, liver, kidneys or lungs in just a few steps. And already in the near future, we will be able to control autonomous vehicles via simple hand gestures.”
